Biography/Pictures

Biographical information was last updated: September 27, 2018.

The 1920 census lists Art's occupation as a blacksmith. Art was quite gifted and artistic. He worked as an ornamental iron maker and also painted. Art and Hazel owned the home that Jim and Nancy Sutton purchased in 1959 on Franklin Street in Evans City, PA. Very graciously, Art and Hazel gave Jim and Nancy Sutton one of Art's paintings, his rendition of the Old Stone House near Slippery Rock when the house was sold. The painting was done as a wintry scene, mostly blues and grays. When Jim and Nancy Sutton moved to Florida, Buzz Irvine purchased the painting for $400.
