Maggie was a woman greatly liked and respected in the community.

From my mother Sutton's notes:
Maggie was born 29 September 1870 to Newton and Margaret Nicholas Garvin of Cranberry Township. (The Garvins were "...of ample fortune, owning 300 acres of land in Cranberry Township together with a valuable farm in Beaver County.") Maggie had at least 7 siblings. She married Baxter R. Ramsey 25 May 1893 when she was nearly 22 1/2 years old and they lived the remainder of their lives on the farm outside Evans City. They had 5 children. She was a member of the Evans City United Presbyterian Church and was a woman greatly liked and respected. She was also a member of Cranberry Grange, No. 908, Patrons of Husbandry. She died 5 February 1909 at the age of 38 1/2, two days after the birth of Euphemie Alice on 5 February 1909. CHILDREN: Ethel, LaVerne, Grace, Pearl, Euphemie Alice

CENSUS Documents

Maggie passed away in 1909 due to complications of childbirth, so Baxter's sister Euphemia moved in to help with the raising of the children. The 1910 census does not list Maggie.
